There are sometimes artistic projects that bring out the best in us, and this is one of them.
Away from the studio, Julien decided to explore the Saint-Martin-la-Plaine Zoo/Refuge, not far from Lyon.
After meeting the park's caretakers and workers, he decided to create a work representing one of the park's mythical animals, the gorilla, in aid of the Tonga Terre d'Accueil association, which works to give a new life to animals that have been trafficked or seized by the law.
The park was put to the test during 7 long months of closure linked to Covid.
Julien was alerted and deeply moved by the situation at the zoo, and decided to help in his own way.
And so, after more than 90 hours' work and 1,500 roses, the original work “Gincko” was born. A piece of art in an unusual format, measuring 2 metres 20 by 1 metre 60.
With the complicity of Galeries Bartoux, the sale of the work raised 10,000 euros, all of which was donated to the Tonga Terre d'Accueil association.
Very touched by the park's action, the whole team wanted to help them by offering to make a donation for the purchase of each limited edition of the “Gincko” work
- 10€ donation for the 50x70 cm limited edition
- Donation of 20€ for the premium edition 100x70 cm
- 80€ donation for the Plexiglass edition
A beautiful way to pay tribute to the work of Madame and Monsieur Thivillon and their team for all the hard work they put in to giving these animals a better life.
