Julien Durix is a Vichy painter born in 1991. Cradled since his early childhood in an artistic environment, he has been fully dedicated to painting since 2012. After two years studying art, he quickly embarked on a more personal practice, which features protagonists from his childhood. Iconic characters have always rubbed shoulders with his canvases. He paints as he breathes, and he invites us to join him in this colorful world where he lets his overflowing imagination run wild.
Each work Durix paints tells us a story: Tintin surprised to find his Snowy transformed into a balloon, Mickey and Minnie passionately kissing in Times Square as well as Superman and Batman challenging each other with their eyes to see which one will conquer the heart of a child… Julien Durix has fun mixing eras as well as characters, the better to make us dream and plunge us into his universe where young and old alike can find themselves. The acrylic paintings of this artist, sketched with meticulousness, do not use collage or printing. The precision of his touch brings out the colors vividly and emphasizes the features of the figures.
At only 32 years of age, he demonstrates an inexhaustible inspiration, a technique close to perfection and a real talent, already recognized. He is thus establishing himself in the contemporary art landscape as a worthy heir of Pop Art.
